Compulsory Purchase and Compensation

Compulsory Purchase and Compensation

Located in one of the busiest transport corridors in Europe, we have a wealth of experience in acting for landowners and occupiers involved with compulsory purchase acquisitions.

We act for clients affected by large network schemes, such as highway alterations, railway works and gas pipeline schemes, as well as regularly negotiating easements, wayleaves and licences for water pipelines, pylons and any other infrastructure required by a utility company. BTF also represent clients at Public Inquiries.

BTF acted for over 40% of those affected by the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (HS1) and are presently consulting on High Speed 2 (HS2) and the Lower Thames Crossing options.

We aim to ensure that clients achieve the best possible outcome both in terms of compensation and in attempting to reduce the impact of works.  We only act for landowners and occupiers and do not act for any utility companies or acquiring authorities thus ensuring a conflict of interest never arises.
